Update WordPress Manually

Faced a problem on one bourgeois hosting, WordPress doesn't want to update at all, all in all, decided to try to manual update. From the instructions on wordpress.org, I made a backup of everything I could (Database, files) and started updating.

The first thing I did after the backup, deleted all files and folders except wp-config.php, wp-content, wp-images, .htaccess, robots.txt. Next, I selected all the files, which were in the archive of the latest version of WordPress and copied them via ftp to the site, true with folder wp-content I did not experiment and decided not to copy it, there is nothing to update.

After deleting and adding the files of the new version, I went to the site and updated the page, wordpress asked me to update the database. Hooray, database updated successfully! In the admin panel, everything is also perfectly updated., now you can calmly exhale and start activating the necessary plugins.

Attention before activating plugins look, how they work with the latest version of WordPress so you don't have to roll back later. In general, deviating from the topic, buy good hosting, who will always be able to insure you, I use this hosting, makes a lot of backups and keeps them for a month. With hosting setup help for free, if you buy through me ).
